Edith Evelyn Laningham Davidson, a woman of physical and spiritual beauty, 86, of Austin, TX peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2009, with family at her side. Evelyns first husband, and the father of her six children, Bryant Welch Laningham, their daughter, Anita Anderson and Evelyns second husband, George Davidson, preceded her in death. Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Gary Laningham and Thomas Laningham and wife, Patty of Austin, TX; her three daughters, Sherry Antonio, and husband, John of Camarillo, CA., Debi Lou Chism and husband David of Austin, TX, Brenda Pollett and husband John of Austin, TX, 11 beautiful grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was a kind and gentle soul whose entire life revolved around her family. Her greatest passion and pleasure was being with her family and friends, she enjoyed seeing everyone happy and together, and always had an open door. Her long career as stay-at-home mother allowed her to enjoy caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, who all have many fond memories of her.
Evelyn had a wonderful sense of humor, a playful spirit and would brighten our hearts with her singing. Evelyn was a great seamstress and an excellent cook, and her wonderful meals were the highlight of numerous family celebrations. Evelyn was a woman who had faith in God and lived her life according; raising her children and grandchildren to follow her example.
You will forever be in our hearts, Mama.
