Evelyn Davis

Evelyn Haynes Davis, 89, of Abilene passed away February 27, 2019 in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Evelyn was born on February 5, 1930 in Pampa, Texas to the late Joseph Clinton Haynes and Viola Weldon Haynes. She married Rathel K. Davis on September 16, 1949. He preceded her in death September 28, 2016. They had five children, Donna Rae, Danny, David, Donnie, and Dee Ann. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and decorating. Evelyn loved crafts and was a very giving and caring person. She was a Baptist.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Danny Davis and wife Lisa, David and wife Kathy, and Dee Ann Davis; 9 grandchildren, Tanner Davis, Harlee Davis, Danyelle Davis, Amanda Jenkins, Justin Stair, Kelby Davis and wife Hayley, Chase Davis and wife Saegan, Alexa Davis, Whitney Young and husband Danny; 8 great grandchildren; 3 nieces and a nephew.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by 2 children, Donna Rae Davis, Donnie Davis; sister, Bernadean Hale and brother, Leroy Haynes.
