Frances Allen

Frances "Lil Babe" Allen, 93, of Abilene was called home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 7th 2015 at Hendrick Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, at 1:00 pm at Galilee Baptist Church, 1011 Briarwood, Abilene, Texas. Burial at Abilene City Cemetery the IOOF Section. Visitation will be held prior to services, from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, Officiating, Pastor Bobby King of the Galilee Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas.

Frances was born on March 3, 1922 in Hubbard, Texas to the late Sam and Eddie Brackens. She married Frank Jefferson December 25th 1938 and of this union 7 children were born, they later divorced and many years later she married Reverend RD. Allen who preceded her in death on March 27th 1996. Frances retired from Hendrick Medical Center after more than 32 years. She also worked as a foster grandparent. Frances was a God fearing woman who loved to cook, quilt, play dominoes and spend time with her family. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She was the former First Lady and member of Goodwill Baptist Church.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; Son, William (Bill) Jefferson; daughter, Troy Faye Frances; three brothers and three sisters.

Frances leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Wiletta Potard of Clovis, NM; Marion Cooper and husband W.C.; Nettie Lee Coleman of Indio CA; one son; Harold Jefferson of Abilene; four daughters; Arlene Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas; Sharon Flannagan of VA; Frankie Ware and husband Tilman; Cynthia Green and husband William both of Abilene; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
