Frances Evans

Frances Mae Walling Evans, 98, of Abilene, TX passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in Abilene, Tx. A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral services at 2:00 pm, on December 27, 2022, at Elmwood Funeral home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Interment will be at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Evans was born September 4, 1924, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Henry Walling and Fannie Ross. She married her late husband Russell Boyd Evans on September 28, 1945. Frances was a housewife and enjoyed raising her four children, she was dedicated to volunteering and working at Meals on Wheels from 1975 to 2000. She was also a proud member of West Minister Presbyterian Church and the church choir.

She is survived by her son, Jon T. Evans wife Jean Evans; her son, Russell B. Evans and wife Cathy Evans; grandsons, Troy Evans and wife Debbie; Brian Evans and wife Krista; granddaughters, Heather Evans, Samantha Glendenning and husband Dakota; great grandchildren, Andrew Evans and wife Emily, Katie Hedges and husband Klayton; great grandchildren, Leila Evans, Kelsey Evans, Brett Evans, Barrett Glendenning; great great grandchildren, Hallie Hedges.

Frances is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Evans; her husband, Russ Evans; her son, Bill Evans; and all 6 of her siblings, she was the youngest of all the siblings.
