Frances Schultz

Frances Ruth Schultz, 89, a lifetime Abilene resident; and longtime teacher, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Miss Schultz was born in Abilene, Texas on August 13, 1919 to Otto and Victor Schultz. She was raised and attended schools in Abilene. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and her masters degree from Columbia University in New York City.

Frances was a member of the Abilene Womens club, Texas State Teachers Association, Abilene Teachers Association and a lifetime member of the First Methodist Church in Abilene, TX.

Miss Schultz was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Victor Schultz; sister in-law Billy Lou Schultz and Peggy Schultz and one niece, Beth Ann Dardnne.

Survivors include two brothers Fred of Waco, TX, Bob of Allen, TX.; Three nieces Sandra Tollison and husband Dennis of Allen, TX, Susan Tollison and husband Bobby of Texas City, TX., and Sally Bledsoe and husband Johnny of Waco, TX; seven great nephews and nieces, and many cousins.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday January 10, 2009 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South with the Reverend Dennis Tollison officiating. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Miss Schultz will be in state at Elmwood Funeral Home until service time.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church, 1318 S 2nd Street, Abilene, Tx 79602 or the organization of your choice.
