Freddie Thomas

Freddy "Lee" Thomas passed in peace on Mach 28, 2015. Born on March 10, 1944, in Abilene, TX to John W. and Beaulah Thomas. Lee met his wife Janell "Jan" Sutton in Abilene, TX and they married on October, 16, 1961. They raised four children. Lee served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ranger and after being injured returned to Abilene and began working as a general contractor for the Federal Housing Authority. He later began a career in law enforcement and served as Taylor County Constable following in his Father's footsteps. Lee always held a passion for cars and followed that passion and became an Independent Auto Dealer. He owned and operated Big Country Auto Auction and Auto Brokers. Lee loved car racing, demolition derby's and fishing for catfish. He loved Jan's bacon and eggs,drinking coffee with his friends at the Colonel Inn while telling stories, some true and some we will never know. Most of all Lee's favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and he loved his grand kids. To have Lee as your friend, was to have a friend for a lifetime.

Lee was survived by his wife Jan Thomas, children, Traci Thomas of Lubbock, TX, Lee Thomas, Jr, "Bubba" of Cottonwood, TX and Janae Thomas of Abilene, TX. Brother, Lonnie Thomas of Abilene, TX, Brother-N-Law, Danny Perry of Abilene, TX.

Lee was preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter, Rhonda Thomas, Daughter-N-Law, Amber Thomas, Son-N-Law, Bob Kitchen, Brother, J. R. "Buck" Thomas, Brother-N-Law, Randy Perry.

Services for Lee will be held on Wednesday, April 1st at 3pm at Elmwood Chapel. Pall Bearers will be: Darrell Breland, Jimmy Williams, Gary Tyler, Mike Hall, Greg Chittum, Richard Richardson and Cal Sumrall
