Frederick Pomerenke

Frederick “Pete” Pomerenke Jr., 58, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in Abilene.

A graveside inurnment service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Furneaux Cemetery, Carrollton, Texas.

Pete was born on January 16, 1963, in California to the late Frederick O’Neil Pomerenke Sr. and Peggy Wake. He worked in construction and volunteered for the Winner Circle Peer Support group, assisting others in overcoming addiction. Pete was a kind person who would go out of his way to help anyone. He dearly loved his fur babies and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Pete spent the last 14 years with his love, Denise Stratton and enjoyed spending time on the lake or sitting on his deck. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Pete is survived by his longtime love, Denise Stratton and her children who loved him like a dad, Shannon Furman and Jacob Saitta and wife Sally; 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; sister, Penny Weant and husband Richard; nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved fur babies.

Pete was also preceded in death by a brother Chris Pomerenke.
