Gayle Williams

March 31, 1953 — September 17, 2021

Gayle Marie Williams our beloved Gree, 68, of Trent passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 in her home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Gayle was born on March 31, 1953 in Odessa, TX to the late Archie Chamness and Doris Harvison Chamness. She married Jerry Glynn Williams on October 18, 1975 and were blessed with 40 years of marriage until his passing on August 30, 2016. Gayle was a devoted wife and mother, but cherished two titles even more, the first a follower of Christ and then the second being a Gree to her grandchildren. Jerry used to tell her that she would argue with a fence post and anyone who knew her would agree, but one thing is for sure she was independent and wanted to do things her way even until the very end. She had many talents through her life that included quilting, crafting, cake making, and fixer of shattered dolls. She was a blessing to all who knew her and we are all thankful for her life and dedication to the Lord. She will be sorely missed but we know she is rejoicing with the angels.

Gayle is survived by her children, Justin Williams and wife Khari; Johanna Taylor and husband Gregg; grandchildren, Kallie and Kelsie Williams, Bennett and Cullen Taylor; her siblings, Debbie Cary and husband Wayne, Rob Chamness, Janis Rockwell and husband Mike, Mark Chamness and wife Rhonda, Mary Ferguson, Randall Chamness and wife Sammy Jo, Kelly Chamness and wife Selissa, Rebecca Thompson and husband Ernest, and Fran Forbes; beloved dachshund Willow; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2 PM at the Baker Heights Church of Christ, 5382 Texas Ave., Abilene, TX 79605.
