After successfully achieving his lifes journey, George Hopes Jr. laid down to rest Friday, November 5, 2010. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 PM on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home.
George, known as Junior was brought into this world by George Sr. and Evelyn Hopes on August 2, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. After high school Junior enlisted into the United States Air Force. While deployed in Nagoya, Japan he found the love of his life, Mitsue Shimuzu. Twenty three years of hard and loyal work for his country he decided to retire and start a new life. Having a passion for driving George drove for UPS for another twenty year adventure. After forty plus years of work George decided to retire for good. He loved fishing, bowling, traveling, reading, and computer technology. He was very knowledgeable and if he couldnt give you the answer he would tell you to ask God where his faith prayed. He was a proud father, husband and Grandparent putting all above himself.
He is preceded by his father, George Sr. mother, Evelyn sister, Evelyn and daughter, Kimi.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mitsue two sons, George III and Donald Hiroshi Hopes eleven grandchildren, one sister, Helen Sissy Warthen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
