Georgia Willingham, 84, died Tuesday, March 04, 2008 in Abilene. Her graveside service with Wayne Lenz officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7th in Elmwood Memorial Park, Garden of Good Shepherd. Viewing and visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Georgia was born on January 14, 1924 in Abilene the daughter of Willis James Vinson and Leta Bell Starit Vinson. She married Newell Willingham on July 25, 1942. She worked as a seamstress at Rita Barber for twelve years and had been a member of the Ovalo Community since 1983. She loved to cook, fish, sew and make beautiful quilts.
Survivors include her children, Gayle Whitehurst and husband Kenneth of Winters, Dianne Roberts and husband Terry of Abilene, J.R. Willingham and wife Linda of Midland, Judy Miller and husband Bill of Hamby, and Greg Willingham and wife Mary of Cross Plains; two brothers, Dub Vinson of Abilene and Joe Vinson of Casper, Wyoming; her sister, Sissy Scott of Abilene and her twin sister, Nancy Fillmon of Clyde; 11 grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Her husband, parents, sisters, Joy Keesee and Fern McCullough, brothers, Lewis and Charlie Vinson and an infant grandson, Joe Allen Willingham preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Larry Whitehurst, Keith Whitehurst, Wes Benson, Bob Willingham, Randy Willingham and Michael Miller.
