Born in Portales, New Mexico to Richard Cub and Sarah Margaret Russell on January 11, 1934. Gerrilee was one of eight children and graduated from Portales High School in 1951. She married her husband, James B. Mullins and together they had five children; Richard, Janice, Traci, Scott, and Justin; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. They built their life in Abilene, Texas where they resided until their passing.
Gerrilee took a job at Dillard's department store in the 1980’s where she became well known for her vivacious personality and keen fashion sense. She received several honors for ranking top in sales. The friends she made at Dillard’s, both co-workers and customers, she held dear long past retirement.
Gerrilee loved people and animals, caring for just about anything or anyone that happened to wander in. “Take your coat off and stay awhile” she would say while preparing the best meal you’d ever have. She showed her love for her family by making them their favorite foods and ensuring they knew they could always come home.
Gerrilee is survived by daughter Janice of Roswell, son Scott of Weatherford and son Justin of Abilene who devoted much of the past several years to her care, her many grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Lamma, and two siblings, Marjorie and Bob.
She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Sarah, husband Jim, son Rick, daughter Traci, daughter-in-law Donna, and siblings Tom, Bill, Kenneth, Ralph, and Jean.
