Gilbert Lara, 60, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Abilene.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 from 12 to 2 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 2 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Gilbert was born on February 14, 1960 in Robert Lee, Texas to Alvin Lara and Janie Talamantes Lara. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Gilbert liked to ride his motorcycle, take road trips and go camping. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Gilbert is survived by his children, Stephanie Lara, Angela Lara, Gina Lara, Gilbert Lara; grandchildren, Ezekiel Lara, Isaac Rodriguez, Isaiah Arellano, Aliana Arellano, Mariah Arellano, Leah Arellano, Neviah Joseph, Jermiah Joseph, Ja’Kari Dean; great grandchildren, Isaiah Arellano Jr., Elijah Flores; father, Alvin Lara; siblings, Bobby Lara (Jackie), Sandra Lara, Elizabeth Lara, Sally Esquivel (Gabriel), and Anna Garcia (Richard); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
