Gloria Parks

Gloria Harris Parks, 82, of Abilene passed away Friday September 5, 2014 in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held Monday Sept 8 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.

Gloria was born to the late Murphey Slatton and Eula Stewart on October 30, 1931 in Scranton, Texas. She married John E. Harris and shared 50 plus years together. He preceded her in death. She later remarried Gerald Parks and they shared 7 years together until his passing. Gloria was a Homemaker and the loving mother and grandmother, sister and friend.
Gloria is survived by her daughters Vickie Reynolds, Janice Larson, Angela McElroy son, Billy Harris grandchildren, Sheree Reynolds, Kathy Reynolds, Malissa Reynolds, Jamie Reynolds, Kimberly Smith, Jennafer Blake, Shawn Larson, Aundria Johnson, Eddie Tatum, Mathew McElroy, Ladale Harris 23 great grandchildren brother, Dale Slatton sister inlaws, Sylvia Slatton and Shirley Slatton many nieces and nephews. Special mention to her 12 year old great grandson, Chris Lemire, who lovingly cared for his great grandmother in her greatest time of need.

Gloria was also preceded in death by brothers, Don Slatton and Bill Slatton sisters, Virginia Marvin and Wonza Bar.
