Gracie Munoz

January 25, 1958 — November 3, 2024

We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved mother, Graciela Eva Munoz, who passed on November 3, 2024 at age 66. A visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 2525 Westview. There will be a procession leaving Elmwood Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 9:30 AM to take Garcie to St. Vincent Catholic Church.

Her boundless love and hard-earned wisdom shone on everyone around her. She was always most happy when devoting herself to the tender errands of motherhood and her children and grandchild James, Victoria, Alexandria, and Velisa. They were her greatest joy and her endless pride. She let us all know, "I am blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a mother, and the blessing is even bigger because I am their mother." Born on January 25,1958 in Brownfield, TX Grace was a radiant soul who believed ferociously in everyone's potential for goodness. Her awesome power to inspire warmth and affection reflects the love she was given as a child. The unwavering support of a given family and chosen family was the root of her sense of peace. She reminds us that "their love is like the wind - you can't see it, but you can feel it. You can always feel it".

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lydia Goodman, and Dimas Moreno.

Gracie is survived by her children, Victoria Mancha (Matt Garcia), James Munoz, and Lexi Castro; her granddaughter, Velisa Mancha; her siblings, Ernest M. Moreno, Articia Moreno, Leticia Moreno, Ruben Dimas Moreno, Ernestino Moreno (Alaina), Jim Goodman (Kaci), and Rachel Esparza; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Though her absence leaves an emptiness that no one can fill, her legacy and memory remain woven into the fabric of all lives she touched. She knew pain and loss, and said, "Time will give you the ability to adjust but does not permit you to forget." We will never forget the depth and warmth of her spirit. We must never forget her smile and grace.

There will be a meal immediately following the service at the church. Please join us for a time of fellowship after the meal at 833 Beech Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
