Gregorio Gutierrez

Gregorio Gutierrez, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Gregorio was born on November 21, 1921, in New Berlin, TX, to Antonio and Guadalupe Gutierrez. He first met the love of his life, Ausencia, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio in 1942. After returning from war in 1946, they married and celebrated 70 years of marriage this past March surrounded by their children and grandchildren. They were faithful members of the University Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; eight brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife; Ausencia; children; Chabela (Roberto); Greg (Rosa); Cynthia (Jose); Tony (Pam); Janie (Esteban); Petra; Carmen (Pasqual); Frances (Julian); Danny (JoAnn); Jesse; Frank (Denise); Mary (John); Joe (Lori); 46 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
