Harold Cornish

Harold B. Cornish, 79, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, in Abilene, TX. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends is from 6 8 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Harold was born on August 23, 1931, in Callaway, NE, to Dorothy Matz and James Cornish. He graduated from Callaway High School in 1948. He later married Jane King in Clovis, New Mexico. Harold was a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene where he was the treasurer of his Sunday school class. He was a care group leader, avid golfer, and a proud Nebraska Cornhusker.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Kristen Wilkins and husband Steve of Canyon Lake his grandchildren, Evan and Gerrit Wilkins one brother, Eldon Cornish and wife June one sister, Harriett Taylor and one sister inlaw, Lorine Cornish.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Jane his son, Peter and one brother, Maynard.
