Harold Thomson

Harold Henry Thomson, 81, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 PM, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Parks, Garden of Good Shepherd.

Harold was born on September 17, 1928 to Henry and Loys Thomson in Crowell, TX. He graduated from Crowell High School in 1946 and married Peggy Pittillo in 1949. They enjoyed 50 years of wonderful marriage until her passing in 1999. They relocated to Abilene in 1953 where he began a 39 year career with the Texas Highway Department. He served as an Assistant Scout Master for many years with Troop 79 from Elmwood West Methodist Church and Troop 10. He was also very proud of the fact that all three of his sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and simply spending time with his family.

Harold is survived by three sons, Richard Thomson of San Antonio, James David Thomson and wife Lynda of Fort Worth, Randall Thomson and wife Brenda of Abilene three grandchildren, Trevor, Tessa and Taylor Thomson one brother, Karl Wayne Thomson of Fort Stockton one sister, Joy Underwood of Fort Worth several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
