Harvey Harris

Harvey Lynn Harris, 64, passed away September 17, 2015 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery.

Harvey was born on August 15, 1951 to Harvey Abbitt Harris & Opal Jane Ferguson, in Ranger, Texas. He was born the youngest of 4 children and was raised in Rising Star, Texas. He served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Sudden Impact Towing Service. On September 17, 2015, Harvey went to be with the Lord after a long illness.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Virginia Rose Booker Harris; his sister, Linda Ruth Pierce; two sons, Harvey Harris Jr. of Abilene, TX, and Teddy Harris of Abilene, TX; two step sons, Hank Daniels & Jerry Daniels both of Abilene, TX; one daughter, Brandi Harris of Abilene, TX.; 6 grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 3 nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Opal Harris; his previous wife, Wanda Helen Harris; two sisters, Gayla June Ross, and Brenda Barrett; and niece, Marley Beasley.

Harvey's love and his great sense of humor will be greatly missed.
