Henry Davila, 91, passed away on December 19, 2014 in Abilene, TX. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2014 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Henry was born in Baird, Texas on September 13, 1923 to Alberto and Eloisa Davila, both of Baird, Texas. He married Alice Sigala in Baird, Texas. Mr. Davila was a founding member of Ambler Baptist Church. He was very proud of the fact that he was born and raised in Callahan County. For several years he attended Sears Senior Citizens Center and was a volunteer. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked on many Abilene Projects such as construction of I20, repaving of downtown, and Grape Street. At the time of his retirement he was employed by the City of Abilene. He enjoyed fishing and participating in outdoor activities with the family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice his parents, Albert and Eloisa Davila one brother, Daniel Davila four sisters, Brijida Moreno, Carmen Suniga, Elvira Rodriguez, and Antonia Martinez one granddaughter, Jessica Davila.
Survivors include his twin sister, Henrietta Gutierrez of La Luz, New Mexico sister, Erma McBride of Baird, Texas three daughters, Bettie Morado and husband Rudy of Abilene, Eloisa Gonzales and husband Greg and Angelina Bryson and husband Jeff of Spring, Texas three sons, Henry Jr. and wife Margaret, Jesse, Tommy and wife Nelda of Abilene, Texas many grandchildren great Grandchildren great great grandchildren Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to give a special thankyou to the doctors, nurses, and staff of The Oaks at Radford Hills and Hendrick Hospice Care.
