Henry Elmer Roberts, 89, peacefully passed to his heavenly home on February 10, 2024. Henry was born in Ten Mile, TN on April 22, 1934, to Leonard and Lucille (Jiles) Roberts. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, then worked at Cummins Electrical Supply and Crystal's Pizza and Spaghetti after he retired from his position in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit.
Henry married (Emma) Lois Eslinger in December 1953. Together they had three children, Steven Roberts, Sherry Maloney and Karen Haley Walters (deceased) before Lois' death in 1993. Later Henry was married to Ruth Biggs Graham for 11 years. After her death he married Billie Canada, who passed around a year and a half later.
For many years he served as a deacon at Broadview Baptist Church. Henry was also known to many at Dyess AFB Hospital as a volunteer for West Texas RSVP. He enjoyed square dancing at the Wagon Wheel, as well as the Thursday night dances at the Rose Park Senior Citizen Center.
He was preceded in death by wives, Lois, Ruth and Billie; daughter, Karen Haley Walters; grandson, Ryan Roberts; sisters, Virginia Sherlin, Betty Johnson and Sheila Harvey; and brothers, Lonnie Roberts and Franklin Roberts.
Henry is survived by two of his children, Sherry Maloney and Steve (wife, Luz) Roberts of Abilene, TX; brothers, Ernest Roberts of Granbury, TX, Samuel Lebbeaus of Ootlewah, TN, Thomas Roberts of Charleston, TN, Daniel Roberts of Cleveland, TN; and sisters, Ladonna Hyde and Linda Guisinger of Cleveland, TN and Joy Gibson of Oneida, TN. He has a dozen grandchildren and bonus grandchildren along with 10 great grandchildren plus bonus great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
