Herbert Holder

Herbert Holder, 81, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on January 17, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on February 1 from 11 to 12 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Herbert entered this world on May 17, 1937 in Louisville, KY, born to Nathan Holder and Erner Shipley Holder. He married Thelma McDonald. Herbert served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Holder, daughter, Vernessa Franklin, son, Corey Holder, and son Toriano Holder and daughter-in-law Mandisa; sister, Mona Jean Gaither.

Herbert was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Gaither, Bubba, and Nenie, and his brothers Guy and Bootsy Holder.
