Idalia De Los Santos Fuentes was born on August 8, 1955 in Taylor, Texas to Sara Garza and Marcos De Los Santos. She had 9 siblings; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Idalia lived in Lubbock then moved to Rule, Texas where she spent most of her life. She had her first son Jose Zepeda in Hereford, Texas where she worked hard as a single mother. Later in Haskell, she met the love of her life, a traveling Tejano musician, Jimmy Fuentes Sr.
They had their second son, Jimmy Fuentes Jr. in March of '87. Having both her sons she built a life for them by working hard and giving them the best life that she could. She was a tough woman and at the same time a loving woman. She spent 14 years of her life working with her husband at Mathis and Son Inc. where she did a little bit of everything. She loved helping everyone, especially her family. Whether you were a niece, a nephew, a grandchild, brother, sister, you knew you could count on "Loli" to help you out. A big smile, and a contagious laugh were some of the things we remember about her. Most of all, her love she had for her family. Graduations, banquets, baby showers, no matter the event, if it was family, she was there for them.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jimmy Fuentes Sr.; her son, Jose Zepeda and wife Tiffany; son, Jimmy Fuentes Jr and fiancé Brianne Chavez, both of Abilene; 3 step daughters, Andrea Rosales, Victoria Fuentes, and Stacey Fuentes; 4 sisters, Vera Limones and husband Jacinto, Eva Nieto and husband Juan, and Esther Muniz; all of Abilene, Rosa Gomez and husband Ralph of Kamay; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews whom she thought as her own children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Sara De Los Santos; 4 brothers, Jesse De Los Santos, Pasqual De Los Santos, Tony De Los Santos, and Louis De Los Santos; and 1 sister, Rachel Navarette.
