Ina Mae Craig, 91, beloved by family and friends, passed away August 2, 2016. While her body finally wore out, she always made family members smile and laugh right up to the end.
She was born September 16, 1924 in Toyah, Texas to Reeves and Anne Burchard. She was the youngest of five children.
In 1943 she met and married Warren G. Craig. He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and their life together involved traveling and living in many places. Together they shared the adventures of living in Bolivia and Panama while raising their two children, Martha Ann and Warren Jr. For all the times the family was transferred to a new location, Mae said she was never as happy as when she was packing to move to a new place. During these years Mae was active with the Air Force Officer's Wives Club and a star member of her bowling team. She was an excellent seamstress, cook and hostess. In her sixties, Mae took up jogging and continued while in Colorado. Mae was a wonderful loving Mother and role model.
In 1962, Warren was stationed to Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas. Years later Warren retired from the Air Force in Abilene and they continued to live there, making many friends and enjoying retirement. They were members of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Warren passed away in 1995.
In 1999, Mae made the decision to move to Loveland, Colorado to be close to her daughter, Martha and her husband, Joseph Melody. The three of them enjoyed traveling together including a trip to London, Scotland and Antarctica, as well as throughout Colorado.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, all of her brothers and sisters, her parents and her son. Surviving are her daughter, Martha Melody of Loveland, Colorado and two grandsons, Warren III and Reeves Craig, of San Antonio.
