Inez McFall, 91, died Thursday, March 27th. Graveside funeral services will be Monday March 31st at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating and grandson Shawn Grisham assisting. The family will receive friends Sunday March 30th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Inez was born on August 16, 1922 in Ackerman, Mississippi to her parents Johanna and Joseph Pinson. Following the death of her mother when Inez was 16 months old, Inez lived with her grandmother and later with her aunt. She married Rex L. McFall on July 19, 1941 in Ackerman Mississippi. Their first home was in Cotton Port, Louisiana. They moved several times following Rexs job as a geologist for various oil and gas companies including time in Nassau Bahamas. Inez and Rex returned to Abilene where they raised their four children. Following Rexs death in 1963 Inez worked as a caregiver for young boys at the Abilene State School and then for the City of Abilene. She retired from the City of Abilene after working in the water department. Inez was a member of Brookhollow Christian Church
Inez will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met. Inez enjoyed being with family and friends for all occasions. She was an extraordinarily friendly woman who loved to talk to everyone.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents husband Rex Lewis McFall and son Rex Earl McFall.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy and husband John McConnell and sons Phil McFall and David McFall and his wife Lisa seven grandchildren twelve great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be her grandsons: Justin Grisham, Chad McConnell, Shayne McFall, Brandon McFall, Lance McFall and Casey Armstrong.
All who knew her were blessed to have had her as a friend, mother and Mimi.
The family would like to thank the nurses, nursing staff, volunteer staff and Dr. Hazelip at Wisteria Place for the kind, compassionate care they provided for Inez during the past seven years.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or to the charity of the donors choice.
