Aletha Inez Tucker will be laid to rest on May 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM graveside service.
Inez was born in McLean, Texas on August 16, 1921. After 4 years there they moved to Abilene area. She graduated in 1938 from Tuscola high school, then moved to Shamrock, Texas. While shopping for shoes with her cousin she met the love of her life, Tommy Tucker. They had a home ceremony and moved to Lubbock. Tommy enlisted in the armed forces and was stationed in Altus, Oklahoma. Their daughter Tommie Kay was born in Lubbock.
After the service they moved to Abilene. Inez was a natural born business woman and leader. She and Tommy were hard workers owning several businesses through the years. The Metro and Majestic, Odom's cafe in Cross Plains and others. Tommy became very ill and passed away. Inez worked at Hallmark Store for 17 years.
Her parents, husband, and son Terry were predeceased.
She had a grand birthday at 90, a street parade at 100. The Lord called her home at 102 1/2.
