Jack H. Nelson, 92, formerly of Abilene passed away Monday, August 23, 2021.
A private funeral service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021. Interment will follow. Online streaming will be made available by clicking on the link below his obituary.
Jack was born on May 16, 1929 in Mt. Calm, TX to the late John Bradley Nelson and Florence Elizabeth Ferguson Nelson. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Jack married Reva June Walker on August 25, 1951. He graduated from Abilene Christian College with a degree in accounting. Jack was known as a man with a gentle quiet heart, loved his Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a very talented wood worker, enjoyed working cattle and taking care of his home and land. Jack enjoyed the mountains, fishing the rivers, and spending time at their home in Red River, NM. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Nelson; three brothers, Ralph Nelson, J.B. Nelson, and Bill Nelson.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, June Nelson; children, Melanie, Michael and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Dustin and wife Gina, Riley and wife Lindsey, Clinton, and Jared; great grandson Rainer; siblings, Mary, Tom and wife Pat, Sue, and husband M.L.; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
