Jack Nieto, 71, of Abilene passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 in Abilene.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation and prayer service will be held Monday, February 11 from 6 to 8 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Jack Nieto was born on January 9, 1948, in Stamford, Texas, to Jack and Marcella Gonzales Nieto. Jack grew up in Abilene, Texas, where he graduated from Abilene High School and attended McMurry University.
He met and married Stella Soto on July 25, 1969. This July, they would have shared their 50th wedding anniversary. They had one child, Jaclyn Renee Nieto, their pride and joy.
After Jaclyn was born, Jack poured his life into her activities, including coaching his daughter's soccer team for over 10 years and supporting her interest in dance. He and Stella were regular Abilene High Football Team supporters for many years once Jaclyn joined the AHS band.
His hobbies consisted of grilling on Sundays with his nephews, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and playing outside with his dog companions.
Jack was a small-business entrepreneur who owned and operated his own ceramic tile and floor installation business for over 40 years.
Jack is survived by his wife Stella Nieto, daughter Jaclyn Renee Nieto, brother Manuel Nieto and wife La Donna, of Garland, Texas. He is also survived by all of his loving nieces, nephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. He will also be missed by his loving dog companions Coco, Mija, and Missy.
