Jake Frederick

Jake W. Frederick, 68, retired MSGT US Air Force, passed away Sunday July 6, 2014 in Abilene.

Graveside service with United States Air Force Honors will be Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US Hwy 277 South. A visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Jake was born on December 10, 1945 to the late Wilbur M. Frederick and Vieva Kimbel Frederick in Cleveland, Ohio. He married Sally Aucoin in 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jake worked and retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant and remained in the medical field. During his service in the military he and his unit were awarded many citations and awards including the Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation. He was a member of the Bass Club and loved fishing and was a member of the American Legion. Jake was known as a man of few words. Sally and the family would like to thank Big Country Hospice and Debra Corley for their kindness and support.

Jake is survived by his wife, Sally daughter, Christine LaBertew and husband Les, son, David Frederick grandson, Layne granddaughter, Hailey 2 sisters in California 2 brothers in Texas many nieces and nephews.
