James Brandon

April 3, 1932 — January 19, 2012

James Daniel Brandon, 79, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at1:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 in The Garden of Gethsemane at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be before the service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.

James was born on April 3, 1932 in Cotton County, Oklahoma where he grew up on the family farm. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He met the love of his life, Rose Mary Neiswanger, in Ohio. They married on December 22, 1965 and moved to Abilene on October 23, 1966. He did mechanic work and truck driving before retiring from Citylink after 10 years. James enjoyed gardening, reading, and fixing things or piddling as Rose would call it.

James is survived by his wife, Rose his children, Michael K. Brandon and wife Tammy of Port Orchard, Washington, Tessia Offringa and husband Russell of Aledo, James M. Brandon and wife Belinda of Baird 5 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 5 step greatgrandchildren 2 sisters, Patricia McLaren of Sacramento, California and Etta Klinkerman of Paris, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Viron Leo Brandon and Pauline Clemmons Brandon and one sister, Rose Lloyd.
