James Medford Clark, 84, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Abilene. Visitation is from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Monday, March 18, 2013 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Monday March 18th, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Road in Abilene.
James was born December 16, 1928 in Onalaska, TX to John Robert and Lottie Clark and attended and graduated high school from Diboll, TX. He joined the United States Air Force shortly after high school where he proudly served his country for twenty years. He married Beryl in 1959 in Arkansas, they moved to Abilene in 1972 and he retired from the Air Force in 1974. He was a very charitable man always trying to help many organizations. He was a great father, hard working man, loved old country and Elvis music, played the guitar, liked cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his four children, Jim Clark and wife Lisa of Eula, Kathy Sellers and fianc Mike of Abilene, Mike Clark and wife Connie of Abilene, Lyndi Sage and fianc Jeff of Tarkington Prairie eight grandchildren, Jimmy Clark Jr., Brandi Choate, Corey Clark, Robert Moody, Jennifer Clark, Jacob Clark, Danny Spiecher, Desirea LeBlanc sisters, Janell Johnson, Murlene Harris brothers, Delbert Clark, Leo Clark several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beryl his parents two brothers, Robert and Raymond Clark four sisters, Ravel Wilkens, Rachel Sutton, Imogene Rivers, and Mary Jane Clark.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
