James Roy Davis, lovingly known as "Jim" to his friends, passed away on April 25, 2024, in Abilene, TX at the age of 84. Born on October 22, 1939, to James and Clara Davis, Jim's life was marked by dedication, hard work, and love.
On September 9, 1961, Jim exchanged vows with the love of his life, Nancy Jean Davis, embarking on a remarkable journey of 60 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to commitment and devotion, creating a foundation of love and support for their family.
Jim led a varied and industrious career, leaving his mark in the railroad, copper mines, and propane industry. His commitment to excellence and his strong work ethic were evident in every role he undertook. He found joy in attending Abilene High Football games and embarking on scenic drives with his faithful dog, Bud.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and is also now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife.
Jim will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kelly Davis; sons, Michael Davis, and Greg Davis; grandchildren, James Scott Johnson, Matthew Ryan Johnson, and Robin Elizabeth Johnson; as well as his great-grandchildren, Kylie Johnson, and Skylie Johnson. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Bridges and Carolyn Davis.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Jim's life will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the memory of a man whose spirit will live on in their hearts forever.
