James Mcbryde

James McBryde, 75, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. There will be no other services held.

James was born August 19, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to Hoyt McBryde and Clydie Strickland McBryde. He graduated from Abilene High School and was a long time employee of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. He was involved with chuck wagon cookouts and enjoyed volunteering for several charity groups in Abilene. He liked camping, traveling in his motorhome and boating.

James is survived by two children, Angela Brawley and husband Steve of Lewisville, Misti McBryde and husband Mike Poppitt of Austin; two grandchildren, Braxton Brawley and Bailey Brawley of Lewisville. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

The family suggests memorial donations to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford Street Abilene, Texas 79605.
