James Rainwater

November 3, 1940 — July 22, 2014

James C. Rainwater, 73, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Abilene.

A funeral service will be held Friday July 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Riddlehoover and Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow with Masonic rites at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James was born on November 3, 1940 to the late Roscoe Compton and Daisy Rutland Rainwater in Wilbarger County, TX. He was class president and a graduate from Oklaunion High School in 1959. James married Margie Crane on October 12, 1968 in Arlington, TX. He worked for Kraft Foods as a sales representative, and was very successful receiving many awards and recognition during his 35 year career. James was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church for 45 years, and a member of the Abilene Masonic lodge 559 as a 32nd Degree Master Mason. He enjoyed many hobbies and interest including hunting, fishing, garage sailing and loved horses. James was very outgoing and could always put a smile on your face.

James is survived by his wife, Margie daughters, Michelle Anderson and husband Jay of San Antonio, Stacie Hall and husband David of Abilene sons, Jamie Rainwater and wife Donna of Van, Michael Rainwater of Canyon Lake 6 grandchildren 1 great granddaughter.
