James Samya

James Sam Samya, 81, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Sam retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 22 years.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Samya of Abilene his children, Raymond Samya of Quanah and Richard Samya of Spring Branch, Darla and Rex Gaub of Potosi, Carla and Bobby Caraway of Tuscola, Sharla and Jamal Barakat of Flower Mound and Jim and Billie Fannin of Oplin grandchildren, Lauren Nelson and husband Joey, Justin Caraway, Muraad and Amira Barakat, and Tanner and Hunter Fannin.
