Janice Lucille Pinkerton Stevens was born February 20, 1931, in Abilene, Texas. She left his world to meet her Savior on May 2, 2022, also in Abilene, Texas, at the age of 91. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 6, 2021 followed by her funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Cotton” Stevens; her siblings, Clovis Pinkerton, Blanche Cox, Flora Bruton, Marvin Pinkerton, Maxine Bewley, Doris Hassell, Norman Pinkerton, and Darlene Taylor.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Bailey; her daughter, Nancy Williams and husband Bill; her son, Danny Stevens and wife Beverly; her grandchildren, Justin Williams and wife Chelsie, Shane Stevens and wife Jennifer, Clay Stevens, Stacy Skibsted, Cole Stevens and wife Chelsea; and her great-grandchildren, Griffin Williams, Rylan Stevens, Lucy Williams, Barrett Stevens, Harrison Stevens, Benton Stevens, Kaj Skibsted, Grayson Stevens, Jack Skibsted, and Asher Stevens.
Janice was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of Oldham Lane Church of Christ. She was most known for her loving devotion to “Cotton,” her husband of 53 years, and to her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids - all of whom affectionately knew her as G-Mama. She will be sorely missed, but her family is comforted to know that she has gone to be with Jesus.
