Janie Beasley, 71, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 in Abilene. Her funeral service with David Cason officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Broadview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Janie was born in Deleon on May 5, 1938 the daughter of William Alfred Dabney and Ethel Lee Crownover Dabney. She was always very proud that she was a former Peach and Watermelon Festival Queen in Deleon. She loved music and was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
Janie will best be remembered for her generosity and her willingness to take care of anyone in need. For over 20 years, she operated an assisted living facility out of her home where she cared for and loved the elderly. These last years she has been a resident of Covenant Place where she was crowned Valentine Queen. She enjoyed watching Lifetime, drinking her Diet Pepsi and having silly fun with her family.
Survivors include her children, Dorothy Padgett and husband Greg of Quinlan, Joe Kilgore of Tye, Debbie Wristen and husband Scott and Kristi Beasley all of Eula 6 Grandchildren, Chris, Alyssa and Nathan Padgett, Zach Kilgore, Scotty Wristen and Breezie Wristen Jones 9 Great Grandchildren and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Her brothers, Thomas Bloom, Rolly Bloom and Joe Dabney preceded her in death.
