Jeannie Brown

Jeannie Brown, 64, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2016, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Jeannie was born May 20, 1952 in Del Rio, Texas to the late O.L. and Gladys Price. Raised under the care of Hendrick Home for Children, she graduated from Cooper High School and Hardin Simmons University. She married Carl Brown on June 3, 1972, and the couple had two children. Jeannie taught early childhood education in the Abilene Independent School District before obtaining her real estate license. She was a well-known and respected realtor in Abilene for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; one daughter, Jenifer L. King and husband Ryan of San Angelo; one son, George R. Brown and wife Brandie of Georgetown; five siblings, Walter Price and wife Pat of Olney; Kenny Price of Abilene; Gerald Price and wife Elaine of Eula; Don Price of Abilene and Betty Schroedter of Abilene; six grandchildren, Carly King, Preston King, Wesley Brown, Hudson Brown, Elliott Brown and Palmer Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents and one sibling, Jodi.

The family wishes the thank the nurses and staff of Hendrick Medical Center, especially those at Hendrick Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to Hendrick Home for Children, Hendrick Hospice of Abilene or a favorite charity.
