Jerry Armstrong

Jerry Othey Armstrong, 74, of Abilene, TX passed away on June 29 ^th of heart failure.

Jerry was born in McKinney, Texas in 1948 to parents Oleta and Othey Armstrong.  He is predeceased by his brothers George Hawks and J.N. Hawks, and sisters, Joyce Caldwell and Ann Cowling and her son Andy. He graduated from Garland High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. He was an avid sports fan; having played basketball at Oral Roberts University and later drafted by the Cleveland Indians.  Following a successful sales career and having established and pastored a church in Carrollton, he eventually retired in Abilene. Jerry is survived by his sister Ruth Fuller and children Lori Sparks, J.W. (Lesley) Armstrong, Clint (Meghan) Armstrong, and Lance Armstrong. Also left behind are grandchildren Alexis and Michaela, Raegan and Schaeffer Armstrong, Cash and Memphis Armstrong. Nieces and nephews David Fuller, Michael, Rhonda and Rodney Caldwell, Patrick and Kim Hawks, and Paige Cowling.

Memorial service will be private with only close family members present.
