Jerry Dean Tabor, aged 87, passed away on September 4, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. Born on February 28, 1937, in Henderson, Kentucky, he devoted 20 years of service to the United States Air Force, a commitment that marked his life with discipline and a sense of duty.

After retiring from the military, Jerry answered a higher calling and became a minister. His fervor for faith led him to serve as a missionary in Mexico, touching many lives through his ministry. He was a cherished member of the Abilene Baptist Church, where he continued to share his faith and serve the community.

Jerry's life was rich with hobbies that spoke to his character. He found joy in reading the Bible, fishing, engaging in yard work, and spending quality time with his family. His passion for telling others about Jesus was evident in his every interaction. He also thoroughly enjoyed teaching table manners with a fork to the elbow.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elcie Lee Tabor, his sister-in-law Viola Louise Tucker, and his children: Carol Forgette (John), Trella Harris (Dale), Wadena Graves (Randall), Doyle Tabor (Nelly), Yazmin Tabor, and Victoria Tabor, 9 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Carl David Tabor, mother, Francis Loney, and sisters, Sharon Cechin, Wanda Chin, Emma Seimone, and Carlene Tabor. He was also proceeded in death by 1 Grandchild and 1 Great Grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene, Texas. Jerry's life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of faith, family, and community.
