Jessalynn Star Sturgill

Jessalynn Star Sturgill, 20, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in Abilene, TX.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park by the gazebo. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:00 PM with a Rosary from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Star was born on October 22, 2001, in Abilene, TX, to Johnny Sturgill and Jessica Denison. She graduated from Abilene High School and was attending Cisco Junior College. She dreamed of following her great grandfather, Fuzz Baldwin, who attended TCU and was the first inductee into the TCU Hall of Fame. Star was a very good student and achieved many scholastic accomplishments. She enjoyed having fun, spending time with friends and attending concerts. She like to go shopping at garage sales and thrift stores. Star will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Star is survived by her parents, Johnny Sturgill and Jessica Denison; brothers, Dustin Sturgill, Harley York, Tommy Willingham, Jake Atwood; aunt, Terry Fields; uncles, Danny Sturgill and Kenny Sturgill; nieces, Raven Fields, and Isabelle Sturgill; nephew, James Sturgill; grandfather, Bob Denison; great grandparents, Bill, and Ina Willingham; Uncle, Weston Denison and aunt, Lindsay Denison; numerous extended family and friends.
