Jessie Mae Wright-Dolton, 86, of Abilene, departed this life on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Hendrick Hospice Center in Abilene, Texas. A homegoing celebration will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 608 Nth 7th St., Abilene, TX. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Jessie Mae Wright-Dolton was born in Greenville, Mississippi on March 26, 1931, to Wesley Wright and Lillie Bea Ross. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and worshipped at Greater Hinds Street Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi until relocating to Abilene. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church with her family until her health began to fail. She was employed in the emergency room of Delta Medical Regional Center in Greenville, MS for thirty-seven years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Odis Dolton; son, Benjamin Wright; son, Andrew James Lott; daughter, Linda Curtis; and grandson Adrian Curtis.
She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Wyester Wright Johnson Sincere, Elizabeth Dolton and Linda Johnson; three sons, Odis Dolton III (Pamela Dolton), Curtis Cross (Karen Cross) and Donald Anthony Dolton (Teresita Dolton); Grandchild (22); Great Grandchildren (44); Great-Great Grandchildren (8); two brothers, Henry Wright and Wesley Wright; one sister, Shirley Reed and host of family and friends.
