Jessie Jeffrey Villarreal, 29, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Abilene. His funeral service with David Leyerle and Dr. Julian Bridges officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM with Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM on Thursday, December 4th at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Jessie was born on August 6, 1979 in Abilene. He graduated from Abilene High in 1999, was active in the ROTC program and was an Eagle Scout. He had worked for Fehr Foods for the past several years. Jessie made a profession of faith, accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Abilene; he grew up very active in the Big A program and later worked at the Family Life Center. He was a volunteer for City Light Community Church and had volunteered during Thanksgiving serving a meal to others in need.
Jessie was a joyful person who always saw the good in everyone. He was a beloved Son, always there to help his mother and his family with whatever they might need.
Survivors include his mother, Josefina Villarreal of Abilene; his Dad, Brian Lilly of Abilene; his biological father, Robert Martinez of Abilene; his grandmother, Beatrice Courtin of Mathis; five brothers, Manuel Villarreal of Canton, Bobby Ortiz of Abilene, Francisco Villarreal of North Dakota, Armondo Villarreal of Mathis and Robert Martinez Jr. of Abilene; four sisters, Petra Ortiz, Annette Valerio, Michelle Villarreal and Anna Marie Espericueta all of Abilene; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
