Joan Mckinley

Joan E. McKinley, 86, formerly of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Abilene.

Graveside Service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Garden Cemetery in Carlsbad, New Mexico under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home.

Joan was born on February 15, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Forrest Townsend and Sallie Antle Townsend. She married E. M. "Mac" McKinley on March 29, 1946 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mac preceded her in death on November 21, 1985. Joan worked as an Entrepreneur and Bookkeeper. She had a wide array of interest such as painting, gardening and was an avid reader. She will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.

Joan is survived by her son, Gary McKinley and wife Nan of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Gwenn Prensner and husband Gary of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Buhrmann, Steven Prensner, Tracie McKinley and Cindi McKinley.

Joan was also preceded in death by a son, Phillip McKinley.
