Joe Paul Howle, 83, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 south. Funeral will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Hawley.

Joe Paul Howle was born February 10, 1932 in Jones County to J.P. and Ruth Lee Howle. He attended schools at Midway, Hodges and Hawley, he also attended Hardin Simmons University. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he farmed and ranched with his Dad in the Hodges Area. He served on the Hawley Water Supply Board and on the Jones County Farm Bureau for many years. Joe is a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Hawley.

Joe married Ann Carman in December of 1978 where they spent 36 happy years together.

Joe is survived by his wife, Ann: his daughters, Linda Hetherington and husband Eric of Parker, CO, Paula Hall and husband Steven of Aurora, CO; step daughter, Tammy Carman, of Anson; and step son, Mark Carman and friend Mary Ann of Abilene; step daughter, Carla Jones and husband Monte; step son, Gregg Morris and wife Julie; grandchildren, Matthew Massey and wife Guille, Kalen, Keelie Jo, Kelvin Hall, and Ken Hall and wife Amanda; his sisters, Nell Busby of Abilene and Helen Woodfin and husband Charlie of Lubbock; 20 step grandchildren; and 32 step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Ruth Howle; step daughter, Debbie Carman; brother in laws, John Busby, Bill Ray, Jerry Ray and Joe Berry.
