Joe Seals

Joe Seals, 66, of Hawley passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019. A visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene Texas. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Hawley Church of Christ, 410 4th Street, Hawley, Texas. Interment will follow the service in the Texas Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Joe was born December 1, 1952 in San Angelo, Texas to Claud and Florence Seals and was the youngest having three older sisters. He entered the United States Navy in 1971 and served one year in the Vietnam War. He met and married Lisa on March 13, 2009, the happy couple just celebrated their 10th year anniversary. Joe enjoyed fishing, cooking and especially bread making. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Above all things Joe was a servant of the Lord and wanted to make sure his legacy was one that the Lord would be proud of. He was always smiling and had a grateful heart. Joe never met a stranger and was known for saying, "Strangers are friends we haven't met yet". Joe was very loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Florence Seals.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lisa Seals; his children, Lichelle Cobb and husband Joe, Shaylyn Clawson, Jonathan Rutledge and wife Amanda, Heather Bromley and husband Jason, and Candace Carr and husband Derek; grandchildren, Makenzie Clawson, Anthony Griffis, Jayden Cobb, Bailey Bromley, Taya Carr, Darian Carr, Caitlin Carr, Tannah Rose Rutledge, Ember Rutledge, and Garrison Rutledge; great-granchild, Alaysia, and numerous, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
