Joel Clyde Hall, 82 passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in Abilene. Mr. Halls graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Elmwood Memorial Park, Sun Dial Section, under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Mr. Hall, 82, an Abilene resident since 1943 served aboard the carrier USS Boxer during 194546. He attended both McMurry and Texas Tech majoring in industrial engineering. He then worked in building design, engineering and drafting throughout the southwest, but primarily in Abilene. He was active in both the National and State Society of Professional Engineers. After retirement, he volunteered with Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels and for many years remained a member of both the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his brother, Wayne and wife Margaret as well as niece Katherine and family of Charlotte NC; two nephews, Chris of D.C. and Mike of Denver, CO.
