John Thomas Mantooth, Sr. was born February 25, 1940, in Abilene, Texas and passed away August 3, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elizabeth Mantooth, 8 brothers and sisters, and his granddaughter, Samantha. Surviving him is his wife of 28 years, Janice, his children, grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and of course, his “brothers from other mothers”.
John was an avid golfer (and quite good) and loved sports of all kinds. (Are there big screen TV’s in heaven?). He was easygoing and had a wonderful sense of humor.
However, his two greatest joys were serving His Lord and his “kids”. John loved having his family around, especially the young ones. It didn’t matter how you were related, you were like another grandkid.
John is now at peace standing forever in the glory of His Amazing Grace, and walking the streets of gold that lead to the most beautiful 18 holes you’ll ever see. (Jesus walks on water, but does He golf?)
