John Duane Stewart peacefully passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on December 1, 1945, in Florida, John was a beloved husband, dedicated father, and cherished friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John's entrepreneurial spirit led him to a successful career in the Oil and Gas industry. After years of hard work and determination, he opened his own business, Pace Operating, which he ran until his well-earned retirement. His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of his peers and colleagues.
Outside of work, John had a zest for life. He found joy in playing pool, and the adventure of riding motorcycles, feeling the wind against his face as he explored the open roads.
John's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife, Graciela Gloria Stewart; his two sons, Ricky Allred and John Stewart; two granddaughters, Alley Allred and Haley Stewart; his sister Patricia Thornton and husband Billie. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, John Stewart, and his mother, Georgia Smith
A Graveside Service to celebrate John's life will be held at the Garden of Memory in Comanche, Texas, on November 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Prior to that, a Visitation will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South on November 21, 2023, from 6:00- 8:00 PM, providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together and pay their respects.
