Johnny Sturgill

Johnny Sturgill, 65, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 29, 2022 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.

Johnny was born August 2, 1957 to Charles and Johanna Sturgill in London, England. He attended and graduated from Abilene High School. After graduation Johnny attended Texas Tech where he played baseball. He also participated in rodeos in his younger years.  Johnny enjoyed working in the oilfield, fishing, repairing old cars and motorcycles. More than anything Johnny loved his family. He was the best father, brother, and uncle. His love and memories will forever be in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Star Sturgill.

Johnny is survived by his sons, Dustin Sturgill, and Jake Atwood; two grandchildren, Isabelle Sturgill, and James Sturgill; his siblings, Terry Fields, Danny Sturgill and his wife Frana, and Kenny Sturgill and his wife Vonnie; and one niece, Rayven Fields.
