With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we bid farewell to Jon Harendt, who joined our Lord at the age of 58, surrounded by his loving family.
Jon was born in Sweetwater, Texas in 1966 to Dorothy (Donald White) and William Floys Harendt. From an early age, his adventurous spirit and curiosity led him to explore the world around him, instilling in him a deep appreciation for nature and life. As a devoted father, Jon was not only a provider but also a constant source of unwavering support and wisdom. His children will remember him by his goofy spirit and "Dad jokes". Although not always available to be present due to being the provider, Jon's love knew no bounds. Beyond his role as a father, Jon was a beloved friend and trusted colleague. His warm smile and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. A man of integrity and compassion, he approached every challenge with grace and resilience, leaving a lasting impression on most everyone he met. In his free time, Jon found solace in the outdoors, where he could often be found fishing, gardening, and if nothing else, tinkering. His passion for nature was matched only by his enthusiasm for Sunday BBQs and Dallas Cowboys games.
Jon's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering positivity will live on in the hearts of his family: his beloved wife Rhonda, his children Tia, Jessica, Wesley, Tanner, Tyler, his cherished grandchildren, as well as his tight bonded in-laws the Hedricks. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jon was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, father Floys, stepfather Donald, brother Howard, sister Linda, nephew Steven, as well as his mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Hedrick.
Though Jon may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. May his memory be a blessing and a comfort to all in the days ahead.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 6th at 11AM, officiated by Minister Brady Horner at Westgate Church of Christ.
The Harendt family would like to send a special thanks to the Lott, Robinson, and RobCo family for carrying our family through this journey. A special thank you to Ms. Carol as well with Hendrick Hospice Care.
